 A hit from a special time (with Rebirth) and place...  *Lynchburg, Va. Original was recorded with band members, George "Champ" Rucker,  Rod Garland, William "Smokey" Robinson,  Ronnie Hall (amazing!), and, the late Joseph "Maestro" Russell (who taught us all - RIP). The late Cornelius Pitts, made it possible (Executive Producer), with his sole financial support.  Original members included Willie Crews (bassist, replaced by Hall), co-founder along with me, who left the group prior to its journey towards success. *R.I.P "Champ" ... ow!

Aubrey Lee Barbour allowed Rebirth to development by providing the opportunity - a great benevolent man with vision, then and now! 

Insofar as music is concerned, dj Madlad is the one who broke most of the recordings of those living in the area (WJJS FM - "The Soul Of The Central Valley"). Once he'd spun a record,  all others were more likely to follow. He's an iconic DJ who still does his thing today.            

Elvis Gordon Deloatch joined the group soon after the release of its recordings, and stayed with me well after a parting of ways ended the group - in fact, to this day in the tradition of our fathers who were lifetime friends.

We kept Rebirth alive with Harry Hunt, Bernard Miles, Bruce McCormick and a host of others, including Willie Bridges, who would trek down to DC on the weekends to perform with us.

      The Rebirth name was carried on until I became the only original member.  The last were Michael Orr, Jeanette Harris, Oscar Artis (deceased), Michael and Kim Black and Rudy Johnson (all are still active), including Oscar as "I remember" Oscar.  

This song is still played in the USA (Chicago), London and Japan (still available for purchase in the latter two countries).  I don't think anyone but me has recorded this song... well, perhaps Ne-Yo heard it somewhere (Closer). I've done it many times and in many ways (genres) as to remember the first recording ever released with me on it. But for Mr. Russell's suggestion, I never would've recorded it - the song was nowhere to be found on my list.

Joe Russell was a rare breed of teacher.  He did what institutions do not do and never have done to date - he taught and molded and supported you after his job had been done. I'll create and connect a page hereto as to further enlighten on my thoughts about Music and Arts Education... how its not working and why its wrong that it is not working... as well as how to fix it.

* Lynchburg was simply a great place to be born and raised... if not family, nearly everyone seemed to be  family.  The wealth of talent (diverse) was incredible during that time, as everyone would converge upon Dunbar High School!  Yo The Mighty Mighty Poets!      

This one is due for release in Russia soon, and sounds really gr8 with a rocker voice and musicians. That's Tanya Dziahileva, a famous model from Belarus who beats me at arm wrestling in 2009.  I met this kid when she was 13ish - every day I had time to see her being prepped for her future. I post this photo because she's the farthest from being a biatch - the utmost in scope of humane; down to earth, smart and one of the most pleasant people I've ever met! This is a snip of my demo...
