Donny hails from the musical "Brown family" born in Lynchburg, Virginia—the youngest son of the late Bobby G. Brown, Sr., who was a multi-talented pianist, vocalist and composer known for his appearances as the late great Nat King Cole. He claims his musical education began in the womb, and—after banging on a few trash cans—a percussion career emerged at age 6. Donny became the youngest member of the Dunbar High School band. Soon after, Donny picked up other instruments including piano, and made his television debut as a young prodigy performing with ensembles and choirs. He entertained audiences as a young Stevie Wonder and co-founded the band Rebirth, which performed at the Red Carpet Lounge in Washington, D.C.
Donny has performed throughout Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia, Australia and the United States. He has appeared on stage, recorded and/or performed with Carl Anderson, the late Boni Boyer, David Bowie, George Benson, Benny Latimore, Sonny Rollins, Robert Brookins, The Whispers, members of Earth, Wind and Fire, Maya Angelou, Sheila E, Millie Jackson, Stephanie Mills, John Faddis, Alexander O'Neil, Rosie Gaines, the late Glenn Goins and a host of others. The most cherished of all was a command performance by Dave Brubeck, who said to Donny, "I have never heard anyone play Brubeck that well, and that includes me."

International Venues
Donny tours but for four weeks per year. Still managing to partake in numerous diverse projects. Be it commercial ad campaigns, film scoring, private parties, charitable events, weddings (including personalized wedding song composition), recording sessions, music and music video production, engineering, collaborations and more... including music administration as CEO and founder of his own independent recording and publishing companies. He has to his sole credit, more than 6,000 recorded works, not including a multitude of themes and stingers suited for many genres and, the compositions and services of the artists he represents.
