A long way from home!
Home is in mind!
I was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia. During a time when hundreds of people knew hundreds of people. Many adults were obligated to spank yo ass if they saw you acting n...erish, during a time when we were freely called n...ers by whites. That blacks did not loosely call other blacks, n...ers, during that period of time, is a lesson apparently needed by some black people today.
Although I now reside in California, I consider Lynchburg my home. In fact I plan to go home, alive and happy and, while able to realize that I am supposed to live .
With regard to my peers, my interaction(s) with every person thereof, was and/or is in some way or another, essential to my becoming and remaining to be this, me!
Whence My Character Traits:
Spirit and Cognitive
Easy to state, my father. He said to me long before his death, when I was a very young wagon maker, "the entire world is your neighborhood" ... Bobby Gordon Brown Sr. - that's probably in Bartlett's in some form or another.
Strength
The first person that comes to mind, now as always, is a woman who'd fight any person regardless of gender. Be it defense of, or in order to protect her babies, both biological and surrogate - Sister Barbour (French pronunciation) is forever atop my list! Remarkable, resilient, rational, loving and oh yes, beat yo ass if all else failed! Sister is the person most responsible for the mettle of my fabric of manhood. I'd do much more than beat some butts for her - I'd be happy to die, lovingly so. I learned this way of loving via her actions and stories - all lessons. She taught me how to really have fun... took my inhibitions away... made me aware that my black skin is beautiful... and keeps me in check - if I make a mistake, I will not live a mistake. Hell with being dumb... . I'd need many lifetimes to make mention of her character. Whereas in my life, I've not met anyone quite like her. In my opinion, she is truly unique! She's my favorite Aunt!
Another adheres to the Sister Barbour way today. My cousin, Beatrice has this spirit! I love her so much that I will not allow her to beat me at badminton. I do refer to her as the "queen of" that game however, and I hope that's enough!
Musicianship
The late Mr. Joseph L. Russell was the man! Our school could not afford music for its musical students. Joe Russell would listen to music on the radio and chart the music for one of the best marching bands ever - The Dunbar 'Mighty Poets' High School! There is also a man who remains in Lynchburg today. One of the most talented musicians I've ever met is Ronnie Hall! Standing alone is Marshall Strickland!
Freedom
Rev. Theodore, Gertrude, Melvin, Aubrey, Junior, Robert and the Barbour family, Dr. George Jackson Sr., Charlie Elliott, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Henderson and family, the Swan family and Louis Wilson - helped keep my butt out of jail! But for Aubrey, I might be doing a life sentence if not already executed.
Self Esteem

Friendship
Although I have hundreds of friends, only few have endured the test of time. Carl was a great friend. I'd miss him dearly but he's with me always. The best male friend ever in my life has been and still is Elvis - many times I've wondered if we are actually biological brothers. Al Boo was the first friend I ever had in life - we still talk on the phone quite often. Marshall S., Skip Ellis and I cannot mention everyone... Rebirth! My best female friend is Ayana Harrell (my amusement park buddy) however my closest ever would be the late Phyllis Deloatch.

Those I Admire
Cindy Brown tops this list... , Gloria Inge or my sister, Beatrice and most certainly Janie and Martha Henderson. Bobby and Connie are my role models when with regard to relationships.
Favorite Musical Association
Given so many people I've had the pleasure of working with in some capacity or another, this is will probably be a shocker. There is a guy I met in Australia (2001) by the name of PB Zaab. This brother and I clicked musically! I'd have to say that if I'm connected with anyone on the creative side, its him. He does a lyric and I hear a melody and visa versa and so on... magic! He's a very gifted individual and, its too bad that we may have been too much alike at the time. In other words, home boy has a right to feel aggression and all that manly stuff, but I am not one to challenge in that way. Still I'd work with him at the drop of a dime if not in a strange land.
Sarah, Jack, Stephanie, Cass and Wayne Livesey all performed musical defibrillation on me. I've had to compose a couple of thousand songs since I was there... in order to rebuild my retirement fund. :-) Thanks and God Bless!

Донни Ди, пожалуй, лучший из приезжавших в «Борсалино» околоджазовых пианистов. У него привлекательный голос, сладковатый, как у Стиви Уандера, но немного суше. Он чутко следует за вибрациями в зале: к месту ли Стинг или Джеймс Браун, допустимо ли сыграть свой собственный радиохит. Он не просто тапер — написал больше шести тысяч песен в разных жанрах и две симфонии, а на сцене освоился еще с младших классов: поп-каверы и соул, рок-н-ролл, блюз, R’n’B.
Когда ему было 19, Rolling Stone похвалил именно его, а не другого многообещающего новичка — Принса. Он делил менеджера с Parliament/Funkadelic, а Барри Гибб из The Bee Gees помогал ему в студии. Игра в отелях по всему миру дает ему еще одно занятие: продюсировать музыкантов из дальних стран вроде Сингапура.
